- Free

Saturday 16 December

KELLY BROUHAHA IS A POWERHOUSE, TRANSVERSING THE LINES OF FOLK, COUNTRY, BLUES, SOUL & JAZZ. A TRUE AMERICANA ARTIST LIKENED TO THE EVA CASSIDY’S & LINDA RONSTADT’S OF THE WORLD – SHE IS ONE OF THOSE ARTISTS WHO’S UNIQUE STYLE CANNOT BE PUT INTO A BOX.

“it’s just so much fun, that girls got amazing pipes, she sounds like Amy Winehouse – but with more of a soulful edge as opposed to a jazz hook” NKECHI ANELE – TRIPLE J ROOTS AND ALL

An accomplished acoustic guitarist with a vocal so powerful the audience is often left in tears, Brouhaha has racked a string of major festivals in 2023 including Gympie Music Muster, Woodford Folk Festival & Groundwater Music Festival. Folk, blues & country audiences alike are discovering a modern day Brandi Carlile / Chris Stapleton and it’s easy to see why audiences across Australia are banding together at her infectious live shows.

“I really don’t know if we have anyone similar in Australia, I am pretty sure that we don’t. She has similar elements of other artists from overseas, and maybe a touch of Renee Geyer, but basically, she is a one-off. In a close tunnel genre in Australia, Kelly is Queen. She is a no-nonsense, firebrand” COWGIRL UP BLOG

THIS IS AN ARTIST YOU SIMPLY NEED TO HEAR

A sought after session musician, she’s also known to appear in country music legend Beccy Cole’s superstar all female outfit “The Sisters Of Twang”, and is regularly invited to guitar jams alongside some of the countries finest (Julz Parker, Minnie Marks, Lecia Louise, Ash Grunwald, Jeff Lang etc.) on the festival circuits.

Whether around a campfire, in RSL’s or in the intimate setting of people’s living rooms – her captivating live show will have you giggling one minute and in tears the next as she tells stories about her travels, mental health battles, her family and her much loved 1992 Toyota Hiace “Pamela Vanderson”.

“Her voice is old and new at the same time, wise and whimsical, cracked and smooth. It’s the voice of an accomplished singer who has dedicated herself to being a storyteller.” – SUNBURNT COUNTRY MUSIC BLOG
