Saturday 20 July
From 6pm
Broadwaters is a duo from the Northern Rivers of NSW, comprised of Matt Day and Jessie Rose. They play well-crafted original music in a range of genres,
as well as interesting covers. You can expect beautiful vocals from Jess, masterful guitar work from Matt, and magnificent harmonies. They formed Broadwaters in late 2019, after a successful recording session for another project.
Jessie Rose and Matt bring a wealth of experience and musical training to Broadwaters. Jessie Rose has a Certificate in Contemporary Music (New Zealand) and a Degree in Audio (SAE, Byron Bay). Matt has a Bachelor of Contemporary Music (Southern Cross University). They’ve both played gigs in various bands at home in Australia and internationally. Jess has played in Europe and NZ (she started performing at
8years old; winning several local talent comps as a young ‘un!), as well as packing out the Rails and the Northern in Byron. She’s had the great joy of
playing Bluesfest. Matt has also played at Bluesfest, as well as Falls Festival and Island Vibe. He’s played in the UK and spent an interesting year playing guitar in the orchestra on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship (pre-Covid, of course!). Matt is a regular performer at weddings (as part of another duo) and teaches guitar in the Northern Rivers.
And if that isn’t enough, Broadwaters often bring in a variety of musicians to spice things up when they’re playing live and recording. All of this makes for a delicious melting pot of musical wonder. Broadwaters have just released their new single: ‘Home’.
