Thank a First Responder Day 2024
Celebrating Our Front Line Workers
Celebrating Our Front Line Workers
On Wednesday, 12 June, we celebrate Thank a First Responder Day. This year, Ballina RSL has teamed up with FORTEM Australia to highlight the importance of our first responders and the invaluable work they do in our community.
Every day, over 370,000 first responders protect and care for Australian communities, standing as the dependable backbone we rely on during times of disaster or crisis. Their work, while vital, is often confronting, traumatic, and dangerous, and can come at a significant personal cost. While trained to handle even the most trying and challenging of circumstances, the personal impact this can have on a first responder is often overlooked. These dedicated individuals face immense challenges daily, often putting their own lives at risk to ensure our safety and wellbeing. It is paramount we care for our frontline workers.
Ballina RSL, in partnership with FORTEM Australia, is committed to raising awareness about the importance of first responder wellness. Together, we call upon the Ballina community to value and honours the contributions of our first responders, ensuring they receive the recognition and care they deserve.
We invite you to join us in recognising and appreciating the first responders in our region by writing a Thank You message from yourself or your business/organisation. Leave it with Ballina RSL to be read over the radio during our Thank a First Responder Day promotions from 3 June to 12 June.
For more about our first responders and how you can help, visit the Ballina RSL Facebook page. Let’s come together to express our gratitude and show our unwavering support for those who are always there for us.
Join us in making this Thank a First Responder Day a memorable and heartfelt tribute to our community’s heroes.
