Originally picking up a bass to perform in a friend’s band at the age of 11, Gold Coast songwriter “LEMAIRE” quickly gravitated to playing guitar and writing songs of his own. At 12, he entered his first local songwriting competition and became addicted to songwriting. Now 22, LEMAIRE has not stopped, with his most recent piece of work, “Rocket Ship”(2019) reaching upwards of 500k plays on Youtube.
LEMAIRE’s online success has been the bi-product of years and years of street performances, pub gigs, and support shows in Byron Bay, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Honing his craft by taking every opportunity that arises, LEMAIRE has been lucky enough to share the stage with acts such as Cloud Control, Ash Grunwald, The Choir Boys and Daryl Braithwaite, as well as taking part in a number of local music festivals such as The Byron Bay Bluesfest, and The Mullumbimby Music Fest – with each show slowly developing his unique musical style and captivating live performance.
At 7, LEMAIRE discovered a highly explicit “Redman” CD, hidden in an old trunk at his family home. He began listening in secret, and before long had developed an obsession with hip-hop and hip-hop artists – Eminem, 50 Cent, and Dr Dre. A concurrent love of singer-songwriters such as John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard would later shape LEMAIRE’s sound into how it exists today. Big catchy choruses, the use of guitars and organic percussion, https://www.mallacoota.org.au/mdhss/levitra-vardenafil/ paired with hip-hop grooves and verses allow for LEMAIRE’s sonic to be one of originality and modernity.
LEMAIRE has so far released two singles on Spotify and Apple Music in 2019, “20 Dollar Wine” and “Torrents” – both receiving praise from local magazines, newspapers, and his online fanbase. Both songs spent time in the top 5 of the Triple J Unearthed charts, where they received positive reviews from various radio presenters.
Recent weeks have seen LEMAIRE constantly in the studio working on vocal features for a number of Australian producers and artists, as well his debut EP “Lexton Grove”. This EP is set to solidify LEMAIRE’s position in the Australian music scene.
