Stephen’s vision is for Ballina RSL Club to be placed in the Top 10 Clubs in Australia, achieving this by surrounding himself with a team of chefs and apprentices who are also passionate about creating a memorable Boardwalk Dining experience, sensational weddings and corporate functions in the Gala Auditorium and working with in-house pastry chefs and baristas in our Level One Café.

Starting at the club as a barista in 2010, James has been able to grow his career at the club through years of supervisory experience and now moving into a managerial role.
James is passionate about quality food & beverage but also delivering a memorable customer experience at every opportunity.
James is focused on making the Ballina RSL the best working environment for staff and working to support all staff to obtain career growth and development opportunities within the industry.


Claire Messager
Operations Manager Entertainment & Customer Service
Began her career at Ballina RSL in 2018 as function coordinator. Loves working with a team who are dedicated to serving and delighting our community and visitors. Love also the opportunities available at the club, for growth and training, and our weekly staff yoga sessions.
