| We are back again in 2026 with a whole new squad of local personalities who are ready to put their talent to the test to dance for cancer!
Our Stars consist of business and local community leaders who will learn to dance in 10 weeks with the help of our fabulously talented dance teachers. Get ready for a night of fun, DANCING, 2-course meal, auctions and spectacular entertainment all in the name of working towards a cancer-free future. With 1 in 2 Australians diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, the money raised from this event will go towards Cancer Council NSW and its world-class cancer research, prevention programs, advocacy, and support services to help those affected by cancer at every point in their journey. |
For any enquiries regarding the event, or how to access our services for yourself or someone that you love – please reach out to Victoria Armstrong at (02) 6639 1310 or victoria.armstrong@nswcc.org.au.

Ballina RSL’s dancing alter ego
For over a decade, I have been a part of the Ballina RSL Club family, contributing in many roles before stepping into my current role as Talent and Training Coordinator. Likewise, at the Ballina Seagulls Rugby League Club, I have held numerous roles over the past 15 years and now serve as Head Trainer and Strapper, I was bestowed life membership of the club in 2024. My passion for people, commitment to community, and drive to make a difference have always been at the heart of my work. Now, as part of the Stars Of Ballina Shire Dance Campaign for the Cancer Council of New South Wales, my goal is to bring energy and heart to this cause. Please join me in making a difference—your kind donation will help fund critical cancer research and care.
I’m honored and humbled to be a contestant in this year’s cancer fundraising event, driven by my deep desire to make a difference. Having seen loved ones and those close to me impacted by cancer, I’m passionate about supporting those who face this disease. Over the past 20 years, I’ve served my community in many roles, and now I dance to raise awareness and vital funds, all while embracing the fun and joy of this incredible experience. Every step I take is for those still fighting—together, we can bring hope and make a real difference.
Team Scott Travolta’s Dance Teacher and Choreographer
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Creative, caring and passionate.
How did you first get involved in dancing?
I first started dancing at around eight years old when I was looking for an after-school sport. I instantly fell in love with it and spent the next 10 years training at least three nights a week.
What is your favourite dance style?
My favourite dance style is definitely contemporary. I love the emotional vulnerability that comes with the style, as well as the freedom to explore abstract shapes and movements. It makes contemporary dance feel unique and constantly evolving.
What song is guaranteed to get you onto the dance floor?
“Temperature” by Sean Paul—or just about any classic early-2000s track!
Who is your ultimate dance icon?
My ultimate dance icon would have to be Lucy Vallely. Her choreography style is unlike anything I have ever seen.
What is your biggest strength as a dance teacher?
My biggest strength is my ability to hold space for every student. I work hard to connect with each dancer and ensure they feel supported throughout their growth.
Compassion is at the heart of how I teach. I want every dancer to feel safe, empowered and confident enough to express themselves.
What is your funniest or most memorable dance moment?
My most memorable dance moment would have to be performing in the Disneyland Parade in America!
What was your first impression of Scotty’s dancing ability?
To be revealed after our first rehearsal!
What is one thing Scotty is surprisingly good at?
We will find out after Saturday’s rehearsal—although we are quietly confident there may be some hidden Travolta talent waiting to emerge.
What can people expect from Team Scott Travolta over the coming weeks?
Team Scott Travolta is all about having fun, and we want everyone watching and supporting us to be part of the journey.
As we hit the dance floor and begin creating an epic routine, we will also be sharing plenty of fun behind-the-scenes content. Keep your eyes peeled – you may even catch a few bloopers along the way!
