A day of excitement, fashion, and fun
A day of excitement, fashion, and fun
The Ballina RSL proudly partnered with the Ballina Jockey Club as the naming sponsor of the 2025 Ballina Cup Race Day. This race day is a much-loved local tradition, and over 1,000 people came together to enjoy a day of racing, fashion, and community.
As the major sponsor, Ballina RSL worked closely with the Jockey Club to support this important event. Our role was to help make the day a success, encourage attendance, and ensure the community had a fantastic experience.
This year, the Ballina Lighthouse & Lismore Surf Life Saving Club was invited as the major charity sponsor for the Calcutta held at the Ballina RSL the night prior. This was a thorough success with $6000 raised through the Calcutta, with a significant portion going to support Surf Life Saving activities in the local area. Duncan Hope, Director of Life-Saving, shared how the ongoing partnership with Ballina RSL has helped provide vital equipment and training for their volunteers. “Ballina RSL has been a great supporter over the years, helping us with boats, equipment, and training, and we’re grateful to continue that close association.”
The day featured highlights such as the Fashions on the Field competition, judged by Ballina RSL Vice Chairperson Peter Sinclair. CEO Guy Diven and Marketing Manager Claire Tyson both spoke about the importance of the event, with Claire expressing pride in helping bring people together for such a great cause. New CEO Guy Diven shared, “We’re proud to sponsor the Ballina RSL Cup and support such an important community event.”
The Ballina Cup Race Day is more than just a day at the races—it’s an opportunity to connect with the community and celebrate what makes Ballina special. Ballina RSL’s support as naming sponsor reflects our commitment to fostering these connections and supporting local organisations.
As the event came to a close, it was clear that the collaboration between Ballina RSL and the Jockey Club had created something the community could be proud of. We look forward to continuing this tradition and building on the success of this year’s Ballina Cup.
